Caring for Community - 501 (c)(3)!!
After a VERY long process, I am happy to announce that we have finally received our official exemption status from the IRS.
That means that as of Aug 29th, Caring for Community operates as a recognized 501 (c)(3) to serve our community in a way that will have lasting impact!
In a process that started February of 2013, with many thanks to Elizabeth Donnelly and Rae Anne Forester for helping us with initial questions and filing, we received notice on Fri that our application had been accepted and we could begin operating.
So what does this really mean to C4C?
Two ways that we can have a larger impact:
1) It allows us to expand our reach to larger business. Over the past 4 years we have had great support from our friends and local business owners that sponsor our events. With recognized status many large companies can now support us through their employees matching options and their designated charitable donations
2) It allows us to partner up with other local charitable organizations to help them in their support of our community. We hope to use our status to support fund raising activities throughout the community, Cornhole related or otherwise. . . We ARE Caring for Community, we show we care by doing whatever we can to make sure needs of people that are overwhelmed or under-resourced are met.
We are thankful for great support and prayerful to have great impact!
League Night Season VI
Yes that is right we have gone Roman for our sixth season!
This fall we will be bringing a Texas Cornhole League sanctioned league to a new venue. Thank you to the folks at Big League Dreams for giving us a place to play and have a good time.
Over the past 5 seasons we continue to grow and with that growth comes a search for a venue with enough space to put enough boards to accommodate everyone. Well, I'm pretty sure Wrigley Field (or whichever of Big League Dreams 8 replica fields they put us on) will have plenty of room!
Once again we will split into multiple divisions giving people of all skill level a place to play and have a good time with a great group of people. C4C has been able to use their portion of the funds raised and donated from the league to continue putting forth great efforts to support our community. With fall coming quickly it also means it's almost time for the annual C4C event, watch for an announcement on that in the next couple of weeks.
Until then, register from the link provided under the “League Night” tab above and get you and your partner out to join us for another season of cornhole in South DFW!
